The Kappa Kappa Iota, Beta Delta Chapter in Kingfisher announced recently the funding of grants to two Kingfisher Public Schools teachers.

“These grants will fund innovative and creative projects that enhance the educational opportunities for KPS students,” said Nance Teders Beta Delta president.

Grants were awarded to Teri Hopkins for the Gilmour Elementary motor lab and Stephanie Bieren for the Kingfisher Junior High library.

Kappa Kappa Iota has the distinction of being one of the oldest organizations for educators in the United States and the oldest organization for women teachers, celebrating its centennial in 2021.

Its stated purpose is to promote the advancement of education by providing an effective network for the exchange of education and teaching practices by educators.

The Beta Delta Chapter meets monthly at the Kingfi sher Public Library during the school year and includes members who are current and retired teachers.
