Hayslip arraigned

An accused killer was formally arraigned Wednesday in Kingfisher County District Court.

Joseph Gregory Hayslip pleaded not guilty to a first degree murder charge before Judge Paul Woodward.

Hayslip, 39, was arrested late Aug. 3, 2023, on a first-degree murder complaint after the body of Peggy Bollenbach was found deceased at the Cattlemen’s Inn in Kingfisher.

He was arrested after being interviewed by Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation special agents.

He was formally charged Aug. 8.

Hayslip, who listed Kingfi sher as his residence on previous felony charges, waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a court appearance Feb. 27.

Preliminary hearings are proceedings to determine whether there is sufficient evidence in a case.

Hayslip’s next appearance was set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4.
