W. Charles and Lois (Bailey) Henderson were married at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Enid on Aug. 19, 1961.

They both finished their college degrees, Chuck at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and Lois at East Central University in Ada.

They have two sons, Kris and Kurt.

Kris and his wife, Nancy, have two children, Kyle and Kelly, and live in Franklin, Tenn.

Kurt has two sons, Mitch and Lane, and they live in Kingfisher.

Chuck was a basketball coach and taught P.E. and shop classes at Alexander, Kan. While at Alexander, Lois went to college at Fort Hayes State for one year.

They moved to Holdenville where Chuck taught auto mechanic classes for two years. While in Holdenville, Lois finished her degree at East Central.

They lived in Holdenville for two years before moving to Kingfisher where Chuck taught auto mechanics for 18 years and Lois taught first-eighth grades.

Chuck then became a curriculum writer and a supervisor for the State Department of Vocational Education at Stillwater for five years.

He was then hired as the adult coordinator at Chisholm Trail Technology Center for eight years before retiring in 1996.

Lois taught at Kingfisher Public Schools for 25 years and retired in 1995. She then substituted for 22 more years.

They are active members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Kingfisher.

There will be a reception celebrating 60 years of marriage at Emmanuel Luther-an Church (Main Street and Douglas Avenue) from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15.

Lois’ 80th birthday will also be celebrated.

All friends, church members and family are invited.
