Hennessey’s board meets Saturday to make plans for future

By

Hennessey’s Board of Trustees have a long agenda Saturday, Feb. 5, for a planning meeting to discuss the future needs of the community.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and will be held in the Seminar Room at the school auditorium.

It’s being held there because it’s larger than the Town Hall board room.

Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman had said earlier that board members should be prepared to meet until 4 p.m. if needed.

The meeting will be moderated by someone from the state, but a name was not available. That moderator will explain how the topics will be handled.

5-10-15-Year Plans

Next up on the agenda is 5-10-15 year plans from department heads and staff in these areas:

• Water

• Sewer

• Sanitation

• Streets

• Parks

• Cemetery

• Police

• Fire

• Library

• General

“Where do we go from here?” is the next item on the agenda and will be followed by comments from citizens and board members. Current members of the board are Mayor Bert Gritz, Vice Mayor Clif Vogt, and Trustees Richard Simunek and Harold Shaw.

There is an election Tuesday to decide who will replace Trustee Keith Meek, who resigned from the board last year.

Those two candidates are David Jones and David Patton.

Both said they will attend the Saturday meeting.
