BLAST FROM THE PAST – These kids were sure having fun at this 2013 Easter Egg Hunt at Bull Foot Park in Hennessey. It’s a good chance some of those pictured are now in high school, or might be graduating this year. [Photo by Barb Walter]

The Hennessey Lions Club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bull Foot Park at noon this Saturday (April 19) will include more than the “usual” prize eggs, and more events this year after the hunt, say planners.

That’s because the Lions teamed with Hennessey United to sponsor two X-box prizes and there will also be other “stuff” going on at the park after the Easter egg hunt.

As usual, the Easter Bunny will be at the park before and immediately after the hunt for photo opportunities, or just a meet-and-greet.

There will be free hot dogs after the hunt and a fishing derby for youngsters, said Shelley Burch, the Lions Club’s entertainment chairman. Bring your own fishing rod.

Parking

The east and west sides of the park are reserved for handicapped and elderly and parking for all others will be on the south side at the Dollar Transportation yard.

Hunt Time/Age Groups Start time is noon sharp, but it’s suggested you get there by 11:45 a.m. A fire truck siren will sound the start of the Easter egg hunt.

Age groups will be marked and are: 1-2 year olds, 3-4 years, 5-7 years and 8 and up (but not too far up).

Must Collect Prizes at Park X-box prizes will be in the two oldest age group’s eggs and there will also be special prizes inside all other eggs for cash, bikes, scooters, etc.

Parents should check their child’s eggs before they leave the park.

Prize winners must collect their winnings that afternoon by going to the fire and police cars in the starting area.

Recycling/Donations There will be egg recycling containers in front of the restrooms.

Donations for next year’s event may be made to the Hennessey Lions Club and dropped off at Town Hall, or mailed to Town of Hennessey, 123 S. Main, Hennessey, OK 73742.

For additional information on the afternoon events, call Shelley Burch: 405-699-1025.
