8 a.m. and 9 a.m. — The Great Race sponsored by the Hennessey Lions Club. Contestants should meet at 8 a.m. on the back side of the elementary school’s playground and must sign up in advance at Town Hall. Entry fee is now $50 (reduced cost from $75 thanks to donations) for each three-person team with proceeds to the Back-to-School Bash. Only 10 teams may compete. The first challenge starts with water kickball and other challenges are “secret,” said Shelley Burch, Hennessey Lions Club chair for those games.

Noon-5 p.m. — Free Swim at aquatic park.

5 p.m. — Cardboard and duct tape boat races in the pool. Sign up at Town Hall, $20 entry per two-person team. Under 18 competitors must have parent permission.

Ping Pong Ball Drop Races follow boat races — $1 donation per ball with 1,000 balls (or more) available. Tickets at Town Hall, or at the waterpark on race day. Winner shares half of donated money with the Lions Club.

9:30 p.m. — Fireworks Display at football field.
