Hennessey board sets planning session Saturday
Town of Hennessey department heads will report on work completed over the past year and recommend future plans to the Hennessey Board of Trustees during the board’s second annual planning session this Saturday, Jan. 21.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Seminar Meeting Room at the HHS Auditorium.
Representatives from these departments will address the board: Cemetery, Fire, Library, Parks, Police, Sewer, Streets, Town Hall and Water.
The session will be facilitated by Jennifer Firguard, community development specialist for the Northern Oklahoma Development Authority in Enid. She is familiar with Hennessey, has attended board meetings and helped the town with several CDBG and REAP grants.
The date for this event had been scheduled for several months, and it was suggested at last week’s meeting that it be postponed since Trustees Richard Simunek and David Jones would be unable to attend.
Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman said it was too late because the room had already been reserved, and staff and others have arranged plans for that date.
However, Jones said he can now attend.
Other trustees who said they’d attend the Saturday session are Mayor Bert Gritz, Vice Mayor Clif Vogt and Harold Shaw.
