Hennessey Farmerettes elect new officers

By
Margie Mcconnell

The Hennessey Farmerettes met Nov. 10 at the First Christian Church in Hennessey with 12 members present for their November meeting.

President Dot Miller opened the meeting and led the pledge to the flag.

Pansy Wheeler shared a devotion.

Roll call was answered by each member telling their favorite kind of cheese.

The minutes of the October meeting were read by Lily Rourke and approved.

Plans were discussed for the group’s December “fun outing.” It was decided to attend Kingfisher Winter Nights and Christmas parade.

Officers selected for the ensuing year were: Miller, president; Wheeler, vice president and parliamentarian; Margie McConnell, secretary; Jamie Akenhead, treasurer.

Susan Engle will text members in advance about future meetings.

It was decided to continue collecting Best Choice labels.

A note was read from McConnell thanking the club for the ham the club gave her when her oldest son, Wayne, passed away following heart surgery.

Akenhead was recognized as being the new vice president of Kingfisher County HCE.

Everyone was reminded to keep a list of all their volunteer time and cost and to call Jean Stribel with the information.

The meeting then adjourned.

A lesson was presented by Wheeler, who displayed and told about the 11 cheeses she brought and encouraged members to sample.

The members brought special food that complemented each kind of cheese.

Tea, lemonade and water was also available.

The members spent the rest of the afternoon working on scrapbook pages. Wheeler and Maxine Helgeson served as hostesses.
