Hennessey Farmerettes hold January meeting

By

The Hennessey Farmerettes met Jan. 11 at the home of Dot Miller.

Paula Nicholson led the group in the pledge to the American flag.

Pansy Wheeler shared information about the purpose of the OHCE organization and Miller informed the group about the Northwest OHCE meeting on March 23 in Laverne.

“I’m a kept woman” was the title of the devotion presented by Mary Curry.

Minutes of the December meeting were read and roll call was answered by members telling what they have done to prepare for an emergency. Nine members and three spouses attended the December meeting.

The group decided the same individual would serve as both hostess and lesson leader at meetings.

The new Kingfisher County OHCE books were distributed and members selected which months they would like to serve as hostess and lesson leader.

Suggestions were made regarding projects for the club to participate in during the year.

A barn quilt meeting was scheduled for Jan. 20 in Kingfisher.

Wheeler presented a lesson on being prepared for an emergency.

The thought for the day was, “Kindness is like snow, it beautifies everything.”

The dollar drill was won by Nicholson and Miller served refreshments.

The next meeting will be held Feb. 8 and Jean Stribel will serve as hostess and lesson leader.
