Hennessey FFA began to close the 2020-21 school year by attending the annual State FFA Convention April 27-28 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

Members in attendance were Emily Hawk, Ryan Pribil, Amey Haymaker, Cale Dickens, Ivan Rivera, Leah Dickens, Adin Dickens, Brooke Sims and Katelynn Renshaw.

The two days were filled with attending a large trade show, leadership workshops and award presentations.

Two members of the Hennessey FFA were recognized on stage in front of members from across the state.

Ryan Pribil was selected as a state proficiency finalist in the area of Grain Production-Entrepreneurship. This is Pribil’s second time to be selected for this honor.

Amey Haymaker, a freshman student, was recognized for the first time as a state proficiency finalist in the area of Swine Production-Entrepreneurship.

This is the fifth year in a row Hennessey has had at least one member recognized as a state finalist.

On Friday, April 30, numerous family members, friends and community supporters attended the chapter’s annual awards and achievements banquet.

Awards and discovery, Greenhand, and chapter degrees were given to members who earned them through their personal agricultural experience projects and FFA involvement.

Last year’s state degree recipients (Kaden Mitchell, Elizabeth Pribil, Gage Zelnicek and Derik Fuksa) were in attendance and were also recognized.
