Hennessey Fire Department reports

Hennessey Fire Department reported the following recent fire calls:

Controlled burn – Todd Vaverka called at 9:50 p.m. April 5 and said a controlled burn was getting out of control at a location two miles west and one-half mile south of the SH 132/51 intersection. One tanker and two brush pumper trucks were sent, and all returned at 10:24 p.m.

Grass fire – Caller reported at 12:09 p.m. April 6 there was a grass fire one-quarter mile north on Cemetery Road. Two brush pumper trucks were sent.

Grass fire – Caller reported a grass fire at 2:32 p.m. April 7 west of the golf course on SH 51, north side of road. Three brush pumper trucks were sent.

Smoke – ADT commercial called at 8:55 a.m. April 8 and said there was smoke, and a possible fire at 604 E. Oklahoma Ave. An engine truck responded at 8:57 a.m. and returned at 9:09 a.m.

House fire – Sandra Torres called at 1:12 p.m. April 9 and said she was told there was a fire in the back of her house, but she wasn’t home. She said the address had been 1300 Blackjack, or County Road 2515. A second call came through Hennessey Police Department via 911. They told Hennessey dispatch that a woman called and said the house was on fire at 12392 E. 634 Road. The location was SH 51 west to 2820, then south to the stop sign approximately one-half mile west on 630 Road, then turn south at trailers. One tanker, three brush pumpers, one engine and a command truck responded and left the station at 1:17 p.m. The engine truck was returned to the station at 3:52 p.m., and others returned after 5 p.m.

Medical emergency – Life Ambulance required firefighter assistance at a medical call on South Arapaho Street, at 11:58 a.m. April 10.

Exxon Road –Assistant Fire Chief James Matousek contacted the police department at 2:22 p.m. April 11, and said he was called for a fire assist at Exxon Road and Turkey Creek Bridge. The request was for one pumper truck and it was sent at 2:34 p.m. and was returned to the station at 3:05 p.m.

US 81 – Caller reported a fire one-fourth mile south of Love’s on US 81 on the west side of the road at 1:40 p.m. April 14. Officer Braden Peck asked dispatch to notify OG&E, and the fire department sent two pumper trucks.

SH 51 – Reporting party called about a fire flare up from a week ago one-half mile east of SH 51 and 132. Call came in at 10:14 p.m. April 5. Three brush pumpers, one tanker and the command truck were called out. All vehicles returned shortly after midnight.
