Hennessey Library History

By

The Hennessey Public Library now stands where Hennessey High School was housed from 1928-64, then was used as the elementary school until 1983. The school sold the building to the town soon thereafter and the town offices and library were moved from Memorial Hall (structure was located at the south end of the current Memorial Park at about 200 N. Main St. and was demolished). Town Hall was moved to its current site at First and South Main streets in August 2007 and the library was expanded into the former board room and clerk/treasurer’s offices.
