Hennessey man injured in wreck near Dover

By

A Hennessey man was injured Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident near Dover.

Irineo Tarango, 24, was transported from the scene by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition with a head injury, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The report said Tarango was driving a 2019 Ford F250 north on U.S. Highway 81 when it struck the guardrail of the Cimarron River bridge.

It left the roadway to the left and entered the soutbound lane of U.S. 81 before striking another guardrail and coming to a rest in the southbound lane.

The accident forced the OHP to shut down the southbound lanes for two hours.

The report said Tarango was not wearing a seatbelt.

All other matters of the accident were still being investigated, according to the report filed by Trooper Justin Noll.

Joining Noll at the scene were Trooper Jeff Jech, Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office, Dover Fire Department, Kingfisher EMS and Air Evac Lifeteam.
