Following are reports that have been filed by the Hennessey Police Department:

Vandalism/ Destruction of Property – Damages to two Town of Hennessey cement poles by an unknown driver Friday, April 18, caused estimated damages of $200. The incident occurred at about 12:41 p.m. near 101 W. Kansas St. That’s when a white Dodge four-door pickup-truck pulling a goose-neck trailer hauling a riding lawnmower and a large red tractor turned north onto the alley from West Kansas Street then hit two poles in the alleyway to Memorial Park, according to the report. A witness said he was unable to see the driver or get the tag number, according to the police report. Officer Robert Cancemi checked two nearby cameras, but the truck did not show on them, according to his report.

Domestic Assault – Officers Matthew Bruner and John Gay responded to a family/domestic call at 511 S. Arapaho St. on April 17 at 6:49 p.m. According to the report, two brothers had been arguing about alleged damage to a lawnmower. Officers also spoke with a witness, who said they watched the incident. According to the report, one of the brothers admitted to putting the other “in a headlock.”

Couple Arrested After Making False Stolen Vehicle Report – Chief Christian Solis was dispatched to 211 N. Cimarron St. at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, about a stolen vehicle. He was told by Leandre J. Chapin and his wife, Carly Brim, that their “vehicle was stolen sometime between the time they called and 9 p.m. the night before.” Solis sent the information to dispatch and they entered the vehicle into NCIC as stolen. At 10:43 a.m., Trooper Jeff Jech called Solis and told him he’d worked a single vehicle accident involving that vehicle. A man said he’d taken a male, female and infant to their home at 211 N. Cimarron, according to the report. Both and Jech went to that address and Jech asked several times if they’d wrecked the vehicle and left the scene, then called it in as stolen. “They finally admitted” they’d wrecked it and left the scene,” Solis wrote in his report. Jech arrested both and Solis transported the couple to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center on misdemeanor complaints of obstructing an officer.

Speeding and Garfield County Arrest Warrant – Niyahn K. Summey of Enid was stopped in the 1000 block of South Main at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 14. He had been driving a red Kia Sorento 62 miles per hour in a posted 45 mile per hour zone, according to the report. When Bruner asked Summey for his driver’s license and insurance, the driver said he didn’t have a license, according to the report. The report also stated there was a temporary tag on the vehicle. After dispatch reported an active Garfield County Sheriff’s Office warrant for Summey’s arrest, he was handcuffed and placed in the patrol vehicle. He was booked in at the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center on the Garfield County charge. On municipal charges, Summey was ticketed $227 for speeding and $365 for driving without a license.
