Hennessey Police Department reports

By

Following are reports recently submitted by the Hennessey Police Department:

Panic Alarm – Detective Brad Logan was advised Wednesday, April 24, at 5:27 p.m. by county dispatch that a panic alarm was activated at Casey’s (120 N. Main St.).

When he arrived at Casey’s, he walked toward the checkout counter, but did not see or hear anything suspicious, according to the report.

Once he talked with an employee, the employee told him the alarm was most likely triggered by the cash register not being properly secured.

Graffiti Vandalism – Logan notified Casey’s store manager Angela Simpson via phone Sunday, April 28, that graffiti had been spray-painted blue on the west side of their store. Logan noticed it while patrolling through the convenience store’s parking lot at 4:43 p.m.

He first contacted a clerk in the store who said she was unaware of the damage, then he later talked with Simpson and sent her phone photos of the damages, according to the report.

Logan went through the store’s cameras and also wrote in his report that he believed those damages may have occurred Friday, April 26, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

He patrolled other areas of town after he left Casey’s, but didn’t find any other spray-painting, according to the report.

Bus Barn Bay Door is Unlocked – While on patrol on the northeast side of town Wednesday, May 8, Logan pulled into the school’s new bus barn (700 E. Jack Choate Ave.) at 1:25 a.m. He “observed one large bay garage door at the rear was open all the way, and it appeared all the lights were on inside the building,” according to the report.

Logan advised dispatch, walked through the building and opened several doors, but did not locate anyone, he wrote in the report.

He saw surveillance cameras outside the building, but didn’t know if they were activated. He took photos and wrote in his report that he believed someone was possibly airing out the building/bay from paint fumes and that’s why the door was open.

Logan continued his patrol on the east side of the facility, and noticed “a few trailers” on cinder blocks with no locking mechanisms on the hitches.

Students/Parents Are Warned – Three teenage boys and their parents, were warned about the boys trespassing again on a teacher’s property.

That’s according to a report by HPD Officer Christian Solis, who is also the Hennessey Public Schools’ resource officer.

After being notified by two school employees Solis made his report on Thursday, May 16.

The boys had apparently bragged at school about knocking on the teacher’s door late at night , according to the report. One video also showed two of the boys moving the teacher’s trash, the report said.

Ricardo Tarango, middle school principal, also viewed the video. He also “interviewed multiple students, and contacted their parents about the issues,” Solis wrote in his report.

Graduation Night Dispute – While directing traffi c after the HHS graduation ceremony Friday, May 17, officers Luis Uriel Rojo and Solis broke up a “verbal altercation between two men and four women.”

According to the report, the argument started when one man wanted to speak with his daughter and another man “started insulting” him and his spouse.

Those two filed a report with HPD on Monday, May 20.

They “did not want to press charges. They just wanted to document the altercation,” according to the officer’s report.

Nissan Car Keys Found – Officer Tony Hickey took custody of a set of car keys in the HPD lobby at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. Todd Siegmann told the officer he found them in the roadway near the State Highway 51 and Mitchell Road intersection.

A Nissan car key and three other keys “are extensively damaged, as they have been run over by traffic many times,” Hickey wrote in his report.

Hickey also posted the found keys on HPD’s Facebook page. They were held at HPD “for safekeeping.”

Rodeo Chaps Found East on S.H. 51 – A “large blue plastic tub” was turned in to Logan at the HPD at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, by Timothy Gillard Jr. of Dover.

Gillard said he was driving westbound on S.H. 51 about four of five miles east of Hennessey when he saw “many items on the highway and in the field.”

When picking them up, he said he saw “many documents, pictures, mail, rodeo chaps, horse registrations, a high school diploma and a college degree.”

The items were found outside the HPD’s jurisdiction so Logan contacted the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office and Deputy Austin Miller took possession of the items, the report shows.

The owner’s name was Lacey Voth, and Miller said he’d deliver the items to her. Miller also gave Logan her cell number in case any other items showed up.
