Hennessey Police Department reports

By

Following are summaries of reports recently filed by members of the Hennessey Police Department:

Woman from Arkansas was lost – An officer saw a white Honda car at 11:26 p.m. Nov. 20 in the westbound lane of State Highway 51 at Main Street. The vehicle stayed there for a while and had its rear wipers going, but it wasn’t raining.

The driver was a 65-year-old woman who said she lived in Little Rock, Ark. When asked what state she was in, she said Arkansas, according to the report. While one officer checked out the woman’s driver’s license, another asked if she had a phone and she said she didn’t, and didn’t have a phone number for a family member.

She said she’d driven to a friend’s house, but saw they had moved, and was now headed to McAlester.

The woman was asked to pull into the Main Street Truck Stop, which she did.

She said her son’s name was Wes and his wife’s name was Victoria, but she didn’t know her son’s birthday, or that of her husband, or the year he was born.

She was shown a Facebook photo of her son, but said she didn’t recognize him. The son told police she had advanced dementia.

An officer drove her car to the Sleep Inn Hotel where she got a room until her son could pick her up the next morning.

The hotel clerk said she would watch out for the woman, and make sure she stayed in the hotel until her son arrived.

Arrow in mom’s yard – Justin Waldrop told police at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 20 that he found an arrow in his mother’s yard at 430 S. Cemetery Road just before he called them.

The officer canvassed neighbors in the Turkey Creek Edition and were told that a male juvenile had been seen shooting arrows the day before.

There had been similar incidents with a BB gun, police were told. Police were directed to Lot 4 of Turkey Creek Drive, but no one answered the door and the officer was unable to make contact with the owner.

Stolen Generator – Tracy Solis, owner of Eat it Up Cafe, 114 S. Main, reported the theft of a 7500-watt Briggs & Stratton generator at 12:20 p.m. Nov. 27. It was stolen from her Ford flatbed pickup that was parked behind her business, the report said.

She told police it had to be two people who took it because of its weight. It was valued at $1,500.

Dog Returned to Owner – Michael Travis Keith, 209 E. Iowa, called the PD at 10:20 p.m. Nov. 28 to file a complaint against a female Hennessey resident.

Keith said the female refused to give him his dog, Kimber. The dog had been gone from his yard about one month, he said.

Keith said his son saw Kimber on Snapchat and Keith contacted the female, but she refused to give him his dog, the report said.

Keith brought two photos of the dog to the PD: one of him holding the dog and another of the female holding the same dog.

The female told the officer on the phone that she’d gone to the PD about three months ago to report finding the lost dog, but was told to keep it until the owner was found.

The officer asked her to bring the dog to the PD, and she did, the report said.

Kimber “immediately ran up and jumped on Mi chael,” the report shows. Keith said he’d taught Kimber a trick and the dog performed the trick in the presence of the officer, and Kimber was released to him.
