Hennessey Police Department reports

By

Following are reports recently filed by members of the Hennessey Police Department:

Dogs attack dog – Melody Cain, 400 N. Bonita, called the PD at 12:22 p.m. Dec. 10.

She said a neighbor boy told her that her dog, a 12-year-old heeler, had been attacked by two dogs.

Cain said she didn’t witness the fight, but had let her dog out of the house to use the bathroom, then went back inside the house.

The officer noticed there was not a fenced yard and asked Cain if she knew there was a leash law and she had to have a restraint on the dog when it’s outside. She said she did, but the dog stays inside the house.

The officer called animal control and when they showed up said they’d passed Christoper Best on the street with two dogs following behind his car.

The officer went to 404 S. Rock Island St. and saw Best on his porch with his two dogs. Best was told his dogs had attacked another dog and were seen unrestrained in that area. Best was issued two animal-at-large citations.

Domestic – Police were dispatched to the Sawmill Inn at 700 E. Jack Choate Ave. at 3:57 p.m. Dec. 11 to a “violent domestic in progress with possible weapons involved.”

When the officer got there, the couple left the residence.

The officer notified dispatch and was told that the couple were at the PD. The officer went to the PD and interviewed the couple.

One of the parties told police her sister-in-law misconstrued what had happened. Both told police “nothing physical” had happened, and “everything is fine.”

No arrests were made.

Complaint – An officer was called into the PD station at 12:56 p.m. Dec. 12 to speak with Courtney Shaw and Raul Garcia about an issue they were having with the soon-to-be ex-husband of Courtney Shaw. Both Courtney Shaw and Garcia filled out voluntary statements about the occurrences they’d had with the accused.

Assault and Battery – An officer respond to a possible assault call from, 623 S. Cheyenne at 7:39 p.m. Dec. 9.

Roxie Acota said her husband, Jeffery Acota, was assaulted by two people.

The officer noted Jeffery Acota had blood on his lip and arm, and his wife had blood on both forearms, knees and right foot when he arrived at their residence. The altercations were apparently over a child custody matter.

With the assistance of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the Hennessey officer went to the Steven Richardson residence in Marshall and interviewed two people, then arrested Richardson for assault and battery.
