Stolen bikes recovered – A 21-year-old male was arrested Thursday, May 26 for the theft of a bicycle.
Jennifer Ullery reported the theft at 5:29 p.m. She told police she’d ridden her blue Schwinn bike to the public library and it was stolen.
She said it had belonged to her father who had purchased it in 1990. The library director showed Officer J. Loper where the cameras were and one showed where Ullery parked her bike. Seven minutes later on the camera it showed and the officer recognized the suspect who took the bike, according to the report.
The report shows that he said he took the bike because he “needed a ride home” and was going to take it back.
The suspect later told the officer he’d taken another bike. That bike was found and returned to the owner, who didn’t realize it was missing, the report shows.
The officer’s investigation took him outside the town limits and he was assisted by Kingfisher County Deputy David Roller.
