Hennessey Police Department reports
The following reports have been filed by the Hennessey Police Department:
Drugs – Arturo Alaniz, 64, Hennessey, was arrested at Walnut and Iowa streets at 7:16 p.m. Jan. 8 after an officer followed him north on State Highway 81 after he failed to use a blinker before making a right hand turn, according to the report. The officer said he noticed there was a metal frame around the license tag covering up the expiration date. After the vehicle stopped, he asked for his insurance and Alaniz reached into a glove box and the offi cer saw a pistol, according to the report. The officer told him to close the glove box and get out of the vehicle and Alaniz told him it was a BB gun, the report said. The officer ejected the clip and determined it was a BB gun. The officer asked Alaniz twice if he had permission to inspect the rest of the vehicle and the report shows he said, “Yeah. Why not.” A glass pipe with residue commonly used to smoke methamphetamines was in the console and the driver said it was not his and he lets his friends drive his vehicle, according to the report. Alaniz was arrested, placed in handcuffs and searched. A glass pipe with residue was found in his jacket pocket, the report said. The officer said he walked around the vehicle and saw something white moving under it and retrieved a bag with a white crystal-like substance that appeared as methamphetamines. Alaniz was placed under arrest at 7:30 p.m. and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center where he was booked and the crystal- like substance tested positive for methamphetamines and weighed 5.73 grams.
No license and Woodward hold – Alejandro Mendoza Martinez, 27, Woodward, was stopped by police at 7 p.m. Jan 5 in the 1100 block of Main Street after he swerved into oncoming traffic, according to the report. He was arrested for driving without a license and taken to the police station where he was booked in the jail and held and Woodward authorities requested a hold on him.
DUI – Samuel Flores Alaniz, 43, Hennessey, was stopped by two officers at 5:17 p.m. Jan. 3 on Cimarron and Colorado streets after police activated emergency lights at Main Street and State Highway 51. Alaniz was originally stopped when he allegedly swerved into the oncoming lane on Main Street, then police followed him as he turned east, then north onto North Cheyenne, then turned onto Colorado Street. He was arrested for driving under suspension, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to maintain a lane. He was booked in the jail and his vehicle was inventoried and a wrecker service took possession of it at 5:57 p.m.
