Hennessey Police Department reports
Hennessey Police Department officers have recently filed the following reports:
– A 67-year-old man contacted the police department six times, starting at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, and ending at 4:34 a.m., Wednesday, March 1. Each time he reported that someone was breaking into his home. He was referred to the Adult Protective Service.
Disturbing the Peace/ Killing Geese – Neighbors in the 400 block of South Cemetery Road reported at 6:58 p.m. Saturday, March 4, that guns were being shot at the town’s lagoon and shooting in the direction of their residence. The police officer called to have someone unlock the gate into the lagoon and contacted Game Warden Blake Pearson who told him it was not waterfowl season. The officer drove, then walked to an area, where he saw two juveniles, both with a shotgun in their hands, the report said. He told them to put the shotguns on the ground and walk to him, and they complied. When asked what they were doing there they said their “Poppa” bought them shotguns and they were hunting ducks, birds and geese, according to the report. When asked if they had any of the birds with them they said their grandfather took them and pointed in the direction of Longhorn Oilfield Services. When their grandfather arrived, the officer asked for his driver license. The man told the officer he’d bought his grandchildren “a couple of shotguns, and told them to go hunt.” When asked where the dead geese were, the man said “he got rid of them” at Longhorn where he works, the report said. The officer followed him and collected the geese for evidence and advised the man that children need to learn firearm safety and be with an adult when hunting or shooting. The game warden was advised of the situation and told the officer “to store the geese somewhere cool so that he could collect them for evidence.”
Driving with Suspended License, Possessing/ Concealing/ Transporting a Controlled Dangerous Substance – At 3:44 p.m. Friday, March 3, an officer stopped a vehicle at Mitchell Road and Jack Choate Boulevard (S.H. 51) because a paper tag was not secured onto the vehicle properly, and the officer was unable to make out the expiration date, or the state where it was registered. The drive did not have a valid driver’s license (suspended) and suggested his passenger drive. The officer asked if there were any guns, or marijuana, in the vehicle and the driver said there was, the report said. The officer returned the driver’s ID to him, and explained the citation. The driver told the officers he “was not spending the money on gas to come back for court and wanted to contest the situation,” the report shows. The passenger said they were on their way to a friend’s house in Broken Arrow. The officer asked if either of them had a medical marijuana license and they didn’t. After the officer checked that the passenger had a valid driver’s license, he asked her where they had the marijuana in the vehicle. She said it was locked in the glove box and the driver shoved items in the back of the glove box and passenger whispered to him: “It’s not in here,” the report shows. The officer advised the two to step out of the vehicle, and notified dispatch that he was searching the vehicle. His search netted a “crystal like substance” (methamphetamines) weighing 4.22 grams and 23.68 grams of marijuana, the report said. Also found were three glass pipes, two torch lighters, two small white containers of THC wax, according to the report. Both were booked in at the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, their gray Chrysler PT Cruiser was confiscated and picked up by a wrecker service.
