Medical Call— Officer dispatched to Alice Street about an adult male having breathing issues at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, to provide assistance to Life EMS and HFD to secure the individual inside the ambulance.

Pedestrian Assist — Offi cer saw a male walking in the heavy rain at 5:26 a.m. Friday, May 19, on west side of Main Street. The 17-year-old said he was going to work and the officer drove him there so he didn’t have to walk in the rain.

Welfare Check — County dispatch notified HPD officer that a subject was laying in the grass on the east side of U.S. Highway 81 north of Howdy’s Travel Plaza at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday, May 10. The officer made a welfare check and a woman said she was getting away from an abusive husband. The officer took the woman to a secure place.

911 Alarm — County dispatch notified officer at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 6, they’d received a 911 call from an alarm company that there was a burglary in progress at the Dollar General Store. Apparently one of the doors was not locked securely, the report said. One of the managers came and said that the safe was secure and the officer checked out the building, and found it to be secure.

Crisis Center Call — HPD was notified at 8:57 p.m. Thursday, April 27, that a 14-year-old person had called the Crisis Center, but hung up. The officer determined there was not a crisis, but the teen did call the number and said it was to see if the center would do anything. The teen was told that they could get in trouble for making a false report and was required to write an essay and turn it into the police department.

Security Check — An officer was dispatched to E. Kansas at 10:32 p.m. Thursday, May 25, to secure a home and continued checks through the night.

Dog at Large — Officers were called at 7:44 p.m. Saturday, May 27, to the 200 block of North Cherokee about a pit bull/mix dog running on that street. It was determined the dog was owned by Kandice Nicole Snyder and a Snyder family member secured the dog.

Bogus check — Tim Taylor of 4T’s Discount Foods arrived at the police department at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, the report shows. Taylor reported that a person rented a RugDoctor using bogus checks. He told police he’d reported the bogus checks to the Kingfisher County District Attorney’s Office, but needed to report the carpet cleaner as stolen and give a copy of the report to the RugDoctor company, The officer took Taylor’s statement and meade a copy of the rental contract signed by the suspect. The machine was valued at $500.
