Hennessey Police Dept. reports
The following reports have recently been filed by members of the Hennessey Police Department:
County semi-truck vandalized – Clay Vincent reported the vandalism of a 2019 Mack semi-truck owned by County Dist. 2 on Jan. 4. It had been parked at the Cow Palace at 112 S. Arapaho. A mechanic at the county barn later told police that the wiring harness, brake lines and lining on the fender well covers had been cut. Police were told the last time the truck had been driven was Dec. 29. Damages estimated at $2,500 or more. Police were told that suspects may have been from a recent party at the Cow Palace.
Lift assist – Officer Braden Peck and Firefighter Levi Copeland responded to a lift assist for the ambulance service Jan. 7.
Medical emergency – Firefighters Kyle Keeton and Randy Bohnstedt were first responders for a medical emergency Jan. 8.
Drug arrest – James McGregor, 45, Purcell, was arrested at U.S. Highway 81 and Conoco Road at 9:20 p.m. Jan.19, for possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia, and taken to the county jail.
Fraud – Cecilia Terrell, 421 N. Walnut, reported that her debit card was used without her permission. She showed police records of her account and they checked out the purchases not made by her. Arrest warrants were issued for her granddaughter, Tia Nicole Norwood and her granddaughter’s boyfriend, Devon Ireal Albert.
Domestic disputes – Officers responded to 220 N. Cimarron St. at 10:52 p.m. Jan. 10 and to 209 E. Iowa St. at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 16.
Unattended death – Reported at 1 p.m. Jan. 16 at 421 N. Cherokee.
Ambulance lift assists – 2:17 a.m. Jan. 17, Officer Matt Bruner and Firefighters Macy Logan and Brandon Scott. Jan. 20, Officer Jaycee Robinson and firefighter Dustin Grellner.
Medical emergency assists – 10:09 a.m. Jan. 10. Officer Braden Peck and Firefighter Chris Pribil.
Arrest warrant – Police served an arrest warrant at 10:48 p.m. Jan. 29 at 300 W. Nebraska St. on Carlos Vargas, 24, for an outstanding warrant. He was booked into the county jail.
Assault and battery – Perla Olivas, 601 N. Arapaho, reported at 6:18 p.m. Jan. 30, that a friend pushed her during an argument about their children. Olivas said she was pregnant and an ambulance was called and she refused to go with them, but said she would go to the hospital on her own. Olivas then signed a citizen’s complaint of assault and battery against the accused. Police went to the accused female’s home, got her side of what happened, and advised her of the court date.
Lift assist – Caller reported at 8:42 a.m. Jan. 25 that her mother had fallen. Firefighter First-Responders were Levi Copeland, Tyson Copeland, Logan Macy, Chris Pribil and Brandon Scott. A firefighter later called for an ambulance.
Vehicle thefts – Thefts from four vehicles and another report of items in the car were “thrown around” were reported Jan. 24, 25 and 27. Two of the vehicle owners did not want to make a report.
Mary Harris, 913 S. Main, reported Jan. 24 that her vehicle was broken into and a pair of sunglasses, makeup and change were stolen.
Daniel Marroquín, 721 S. Bonita, reported his truck was broken into and his birth certificate, an Escort radar detector and some change were missing. A red vehicle was seen in the area, police were told.
Trish Wanzer, 115 Oakwood Drive, said her vehicle was broken into and some cosmetics and change were missing from her center console. The officer asked her husband if anything was missing from his truck, and was told his truck was locked. When he checked his Chevrolet car he discovers a knife and a Dremel tool were missing. The officer checked with the county sheriff’s office where they looked for recently pawned Dremel tool, and a Dremel tool and knife were pawned Jan. 24 at Red Dirt Pawn, El Reno. Police put an investigative hold on the two items.
No arrests were shown on the Feb. 5 report.
Fire reports – A grass fire one mile north and one mile east of Hennessey was reported at 1:06 p.m. Jan. 19. One tanker and three rural brush pumper trucks were sent. A possible furnace fire inside the home at 3499 Road N 2820 was reported at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 31. Two brush pumper trucks, one engine and a tanker truck made the fire run. The vehicles returned to the station at 4:37 p.m.
