Friday was the last weekday for the Hennessey pool to be open, but it will be open on weekends until Sept. 4, Labor Day weekend, Tiffany Tillman, town administrator, told the town board last Thursday night.

The pool is now open Saturdays from noon-6 p.m. and Sundays 1-6 p.m.

She said Lomega sent about 100 school children on the last day and the Enid YMCA took about 60 children there seven or eight times throughout the summer.

Kingfisher summer school students were there three times, she said.

“We have had some issues with the anti-slip surface on the diving boards,” she said, and replacements are under warranty and have been shipped to the town.

“The lifeguards have really been great,” she said, and they’ve been busy with many parties throughout the season.
