A reception was recently given in honor of George Ray and Deanna Heupel’s 50th wedding anniversary.

The event was hosted Saturday, June 25, by their family in the St. John’s Lutheran Church basement in Okarche.

The couple were married at St. John’s on June 23, 1972.

They each brought three children to this union. All six were present at the celebration.

The children are Toni Crouch and husband Rick of Round Rock, Texas; Darin Hedrick and wife Patricia of Yukon; Shelly West and husband Jeff of Grapevine, Texas; Wes Heupel of Okarche; Heidi Struck and husband Danny of Kingfisher; and Voni Bentancourt and husband David of Haslet, Texas.

Grandchildren who attended were Heather and Justin Copsin, Spencer and Maegan Struck, Tanner and Alexi Bentancourt, Lauren Bentancourt and Morgan Bentancourt.

Great-grandchildren in attendance were Jett Copsin, Jase Copsin and Hensley Copsin.

A chantilly cake was decorated with the cake topper from their wedding. Hors d’oevres, cupcakes and punch were served.

The afternoon was spent visiting with their grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Special guest Tommy Bomhoff, who was the best man at their wedding, also attended.
