Kylie Hood and Reid Witt have been announced as the Junior Lions for the month of September 2023.

The Kingfisher High School seniors attended last Thursday’s meeting of the local Lions Club.

Hood is the daughter of Shane and Janet Hood.

She’s involved in Stu- dent Council, FFA, FCA

and golf among other activities.

She’s currently the Kingfi sher FFA vice pres- ident and has been named to the National Honor So- ciety and Oklahoma Honor Society.

She won the Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship Program as a junior and earlier this year was named for the same honor for the entire state.

She also was an Oklahoma Girls State delegate, attended the Washington Leadership Conference and earned the Academic Achievement Award.

Hood plans to attend Oklahoma State Univer- sity and major in agricul- tural communications and English pre-law.

She plans to become an agricultural attorney while leading a law firm.

Witt is the son of Wade and Kellee Witt.

He’s active in soccer, FCA and takes pre-en- gineering courses at Chisholm Trail Technology Center.

He’s been named KHS Student of the Month three times, Student of the Quarter at CTTC and was named the Engineering Student of the Year at CTTC as well.

A captain on the soccer team, Witt also has been named to the National Technical Honor Society.

He also plans to attend OSU. Witt said he’ll pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. His career plan is to become part of a research and development team for an equipment company.
