HPD officer resigns
The Hennessey police officer accused of shooting a family’s pet has resigned from the department.
Hennessey Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman confirmed last Friday afternoon that Tyler Baxter had tendered his resignation.
The resignation was effective immediately.
Baxter is alleged to have shot the pet dog of a Hennessey family after the dog had been found and turned in.
Reports state Baxter admitted to the family that he shot the dog.
Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday that its investigation into the matter is ongoing.
