HPD Reports
The following reports were recently filed by members of the Hennessey Police Department:
– Michael Wayne Packer, 30, Lakewood, Colo., was stopped by police Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6:45 p.m. Packer was driving a blue Ford Explorer and was stopped after he turned east on State Highway 51 from Mitchell Road because the tag lights were out, according to the report. As the officer approached the vehicle he could smell “an extremely strong odor of gasoline coming from inside the vehicle,” the report read. Packer told the officer he had gas cans in the back of the vehicle because he’d rather buy gas in Oklahoma instead of Colorado. The officer wrote that there was gas in gas cans, antifreeze jugs and an old milk jug. Packer told the officer he drove from Sand Springs heading to Tulsa to buy a puppy, the report said. When asked for his driver’s license, Packer said he didn’t have one. An OLETS search showed his license was revoked, according to the report. He also had an expired car tag and he was placed under arrest. During transport the officer was told that the town’s agreement with Kingfisher County to house inmates had not been finalized, the report said. Packer was given citations and released on his own recognizance.
County arrest warrant – Aaron Michael Christiansen, 42, Jasper, Wyo., was questioned by police on a “reasonable suspicion” stop at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. Christiansen was seen pulling in behind the meat processing plant on North Cheyenne in a black Dodge dually. Since it was the weekend and the busi- ness was closed, he asked the driver why they were parked in that area. Christiansen didn’t answer, but a passenger (not named in the report) answered for him. Christiansen was asked to get out of the vehicle and “stated that he was in trouble in Indiana for an assault on his children,” the report said. The officer notified the dispatcher to notify Indiana and dispatch advised there was a warrant for him in Kingfisher County. Christiansen was arrested, transported to Kingfisher and booked in.
