Reports
Assist – Police Chief Christian Solis and Officer Matthew Bruner assisted the ABLE Commission while it conducted a search warrant at Friends Bar at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Credit Card Theft – Officer Logan Blackburn reports he was flagged down at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in the 500 block of E. Jack Choate St. by Marty James, who said he believed someone used his credit card at Eagle Mart for gasoline. According to the report, James said he’d filled up his truck there for $70.44, had noticed a man in a white SUV behind him and thought it was strange because there were other open pumps. James said he noticed the man didn’t swipe a credit card and was unable to get his tag, but got another charge on his credit card for $34.52, according to the report.
The officer advised James to notify his credit card company and he’d speak with the Eagle Mart manager.
At 2 p.m. the officer spoke with a store employee who said he didn’t have access to the cameras, but showed him two receipts: $70.44 and $34.52.
He then checked the pump James had used and did not find any type of card skimmer. The Eagle Mart owner said when James returned to the store he’d give him a refund.
