After squeaking in its last production just before the growing pandemic called a halt to live theater, Kingfisher Creative Inc. is coming out of quarantine this week with its latest comedic offering.

‘Rumors,’ Neal Simon’s 1988 comedic farse about a dinner party that’s gone topsy turvy, will be presented at 7 p.m. July 30 and 31 and Aug. 6 and 7 at Kingfisher Heritage School auditorium.

Co-directed by Val Snow and Tyler Mueggenborg, ‘Rumors’ features four couples arriving for the 10th anniversary celebration party for New York’s deputy mayor and his wife, only to find the mayor wounded in bed and the wife missing.

The cast includes veterans of Kingfisher community theater, along with some newcomers: Mike Brown as Ken Gorman, Nichole Goodson as Chris Gorman, Ulanda Tiller as Claire Ganz, Kelly Kopp as Lenny Ganz, Cayman Matson as Ernie Cusack, Karisa Eaton as Cookie Cusack, Tyler Roman as Glen Cooper, Amy Duffy as Cassie Cooper, Colton Young as Officer Welch and Shane Blackwell as Officer Pudney.

The play is the eighth production for Kingfisher Creative. Its last endeavor was “Murder at the Pie Auction,” presented as dinner theater in March 2020.

“We’re so excited to be back with another production and grateful we’re back to a place where we can safely enjoy live entertainment again,” Snow said.
