Theme announced for Christmas parade, fi reworks, laser show

Though the month that features Halloween hasn’t even hit the calenders, the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce staff and board of directors are already hard at work on their biggest event of the year.

The chamber recently announced the theme for the annual Christmas parade, fireworks and laser show.

The theme this year is: “Cowboy Christ- mas.”

This year’s event will be held Saturday, Dec. 7. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. and then the fireworks and laser show will follow.

“Last year, lasers were introduced, and this year’s show promises to be bigger and better,” said Kingfisher Chamber Director Shauna Rupp.

Rupp added that she and her staff have spoken with the laser and fireworks companies.

“They will plan to have those two elements be complementary to each other, not competitive,” Rupp said. “Once again, the entire program will be choreographed to music and played on speakers throughout downtown Kingfisher.”

As usual, the parade and subsequent show are the exclamation points on a day full of events.

That includes a 5K race, the Winterfest craft fair at the fairgrounds, an afternoon movie matinee, food trucks and much more, Rupp said.

And, as always, Kingfi sher Winter Nights will be open for visitors at the parade’s conclusion.
