Theta Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met at the home of Cynthia Eaton on Monday, Sept. 27, for the start of the new calendar year.

The meeting began at 7 p.m.

President Karen Castonguay opened the meeting with the members reciting the opening ritual.

Members received their chapter t-shirts that evening with the president’s theme on the front.

Ramona Paine, chaplain, gave the devotional “And God Created Laughter” from Proverbs 17:22.

Teri Peck, educational director, introduced the guest speaker, Blair Couglan of the Kingfisher County Health Department, who spoke on the COVID-19 vaccine and other related health topics and activities that are available to Kingfisher residents.

Cathy Holsted, ways and means chairman, announced the making of Aunt Bill’s candy will be in October.

Breads and cinnamon rolls will be baked in November and the chapter will once again have a booth of Winterfest on Dec. 4, at which candy, breads and cinnamon rolls will be available.

The members wore Christmas attire to the meeting for a group picture to be published in the Oklahoma State Council of ESA calendar.

The reason for Christmas attire was the plan for the group to be featured for December.

Jim Eaton decorated a Christmas tree for the picture background.

Doc Holsted, a member, also joined the group for the picture.

It was decided the club would not be doing a Tour of Homes this year.

The chapter will once again be sponsoring Oklahoma School for the Blind and Oklahoma School for the Deaf students with monetary donations for their different activities.

The meeting was closed with the members reciting the closing ritual.

Those taking in the fellowship of dessert and drinks were: Donna McPherson, Madell Henderson, LaVenia Boutwell, Holsted, Dana Terrell, Peck, Castonguay, Debi Trout, Paige Krause, Ramona Paine, Teri Stake, Karen Edgar and Eaton.

The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at the First Christian Church.
