Items sought for a county employee, family members who lost home in last week’s fires
A Commissioner District 3 employee who lost his house in a brush fire Tuesday afternoon in the Twin Lakes area is the focus of a drive headed by Amanda Osterholt, secretary in the District 3 headquarters office.
A note from District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss, which contained a list of clothing sizes for members of the family compiled by Osterholt, commented that the family lost its entire household.
Osterholt, when contacted by the Times and Free Press Friday, said the children were at school when the fire arrived at the house, but the wife was almost caught inside the home when she attempted to retrieve something, but she got out without serious injury.
Anyone wanting to donate items to the family can bring them to the District 3 office, west of Kingfi sher on S.H. 33 or those wishing to help can call Osterholt at the District 3 shop (375-5476) or see her personal Facebook page.
Temporary housing has been arranged for the family.
The list supplied to the Times and Free Press included:
• Men’s pants, 40-44 waist, 32 length, 3XL shirts, 10 1/2 EE boots.
• Women’s pants/ shorts 18/20, 2XL tops, size 10 shoes.

In an update Friday Osterholt added: “I want to thank everyone for the tremendous generosity; it is truly overwhelming.”
( Ed. note: Kingfisher County Emergency Management Director Ryan Deatherage told the Times & Free Press that multiple agencies are working on a “long-range recovery plan,” including for those who lost homes. The family referenced in this story is one of 10 who lost homes in the fires. More information on the ability to donate and/or help those in need will be made available in the coming days and weeks as the longrange plan is completed.)
