Jech, Crosswhite recognize Cashion cheer’s historic year

Cashion High School varsity cheer was recognized Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Capitol by State Sen. Darcy Jech (far left) and Rep. Denise Crosswhite (far right) for the unheard of double- double it pulled off this school year. The first major feat took place Sept. 23 in Tulsa when the team won the Class 2A competitive cheer state championship, which was the first in school history. The team was also announced that day as the academic state champion for Class 2A. Then in November, the team followed that up by winning the Class 2A Game Day state championship in Moore....and the academic state title as well. No team had accomplished that feat of both cheer championships and academic titles in the same year. Cashion cheer carried a cumulative GPA of 3.86 for the year. The team is coached by Amber Hobgood and Casi Williams. Team members include Hadley House, Kylie Henson, Mackey Roper, Olive Hostetler, Chevy Eubanks, Kaylee Gilliland, Lauren Jenkins, Reese Williams, Bella Butler, Story Pfenninger, Ruby Hudson, Jayce Bradley, Abby Hobgood, Lilah Holt, Cheyenne Henry, Blake Cavner, Ruby Carson, Bailey Garrett, Sadie Weaver, Megan Shafer, Dylan Ahern, Landrie Shackelford, Sierra McCracken and Adalynne Poston.
