June sales tax checks down for majority of Kingfisher County

June sales tax checks were down for all Kingfi sher County towns except Dover while Kingfisher County experienced a $49,200.30 increase.

The June 9, 2025, distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from April business.

Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.

The monies they reported this period represent sales from April 16 to April 30 and estimated sales from May 1 to May 15.

The disbursement of $201,028,856 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $6,927,715 from the $194,105,141 distributed to them in June last year.

The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $36,620,911.

County towns were facing unusually large sales tax checks received in 2024, likely because of heavy drilling activity during the preceding year.

Use tax receipts were larger for all Kingfisher County towns, except Dover.

Use tax is collected on products purchased outof- state for use in-state. It often reflects purchases of oilfield drilling materials. Use tax rates are the same as each entity’s sales tax.

Loyal does not levy a use tax.

Dover – $1,633 and $4,164.50.
