KCRW celebrates 20 years at Monday event

By

The Kingfisher County Republican Women will hold its 20th year celebration next week.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at the Interbank Community Room.

The public is invited to attend.

A proclamation will be presented to the group from State Sen. Darcy Jech and Rep. Mike Dobrinski.

The club grew from the original eight members on Oct. 13, 2003, to more 70 for many years.

KCRW has been very active in state and national events as well as supporting local, state and national candidate campaigns for offices.

On top of also supporting state and national conventions, members have kept an active presence locally at county fairs and parades and helping volunteer and support the community.

The group has also awarded scholarships to county seniors selected to win its annual essay contest revolving around the U.S. Constitution.

The club is providing a complimentary lunch for the event, but contributions to the scholarship fund will also be accepted.
