Keith Schroder has county bridge named in his honor
Former District 3 Kingfisher County Commissioner Keith Schroder, who retired in 2019 after serving 20 years in the position received a lasting honor at Monday’s weekly meeting.
Current District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny read a proclamation dedicating a District 3 bridge in Schroder’s honor, noting that Schroder built or upgraded 55 bridges in the district during his 20 years of service.
“Keith’s work has made my job a lot easier,” Dobrovolny said.
Schroder’s wife, Karen, and sons Kyle, Tyler and Chris were present for the event.
The Schroder dedication took center stage at the first of the meeting.
In other action, commissioners:
• Declared a stationary shelf in the county clerk’s office as surplus;
• Approved right-of-way payments for five parcels at the Uncle John Creek bridge on East Robberts Avenue, totaling $34,849.31 (the bridge is scheduled for replacement); • Approved monthly reports for the offices of sheriff, treasurer, county clerk, assessor, court clerk, court clerk preservation fund, election board and health department; • Approved appropriations for the month of March, state reimbursements for the election board and assistant district attorney offices, and,
• Approved a public access drive for Richard Staton at 18144 East 760 Road (Section 31-17-6) The following pipeline crossings were also given approval:
• K&J Construction – three-inch poly line one mile north and nine miles east of Dover, District 2;
• BM Power Up, Inc. – 12-inch lay flat line located four miles east and five miles south of Omega, District 3; Present for the meeting were all commissioners Dobrovolny; Jeff Moss, District 1, and Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2, County Clerk Jeanie Boevers, as official minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, 9-1-1 Director Ryan Deatherage and the Schroder family.
