KFRW hosts state, national dignitaries at OkFRW meeting
More than 45 Republican women from across the state, along with the past president of the National Federation of Republican Women, gathered in Kingfisher last weekend for the OkFRW spring meeting.
Hosted by Kingfisher County Republican Women, the meeting was the first of four quarterly meetings scheduled by the state organization for 2022.
KCRW President Toni Pickle and fellow club members began the weekend with a social event Friday night at the Chisholm Trail Museum, which also was attended by U.S. Senator James Lankford and his wife Cindy, and State Rep. Todd Russ (R-Dist. 55), candidate for state treasurer.
The evening included a light buffet and tours of the museum and Seay Mansion.
Garfield County Clerk Lori Legere, who also serves as state president of Republican Women, led the business meeting Saturday at WearHouse Mercantile in downtown Kingfisher.
Legere’s state executive committee includes Debbie Parks of Kingfisher as second vice president.
Other local club members in attendance included Mary Bowerman, Donna Carter, Brandi Willimon and Christine Reid, all of Kingfisher, and Sheila Duell of Hennessey.
The meeting was opened with Kingfisher High School student and choir member Ethan Willimon performing the National Anthem.
Special speakers at the event included Fifth District Congresswoman Stephanie Bice, State Attorney General John O’Connor and Ann Schockett of New York, past NFRW president.
