KHS announces February Students of the Month

Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for February 2024.

Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.

Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Molly Weber, sophomore Brayden Kochenower, junior Natalie Garrett and senior Harley Schlegel.

Weber is the daughter of Levi Weber and Felicia Weber.

She is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

She is active in Student Council where she serves as a freshman class representative this year.

Molly is a member of both the KHS girls soccer team and the KHS girls basketball team.

Kochenower is the grandson of Rodney and Elise Kochenower.

He is a member of the KHS wrestling team where he has earned numerous awards in 2024 including winning his weight class at the Kingfisher Tournament, Hub City Classic Tournament in Clinton, and the Western Conference Tournament.

Kochenower was the runner-up at 138 pounds at the 3A western regional and then finished as the state runner-up in that weight class.

Kochenower also participates in the TNT Wrestling Greco Roman/Freestyle Club where he was the state runner-up in 2023.

He is a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Garrett is the daughter of Greg and Sara Garrett.

She is a member of the National Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

She has received the 4.0 Award and the Academic Award.

Garrett is active in Student Council, serving as vice president, and is the STING Week co-chairman this year.

She is a member of both the KHS girls soccer team and the KHS girls cross country team.

Garrett is also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and serves on the Center of Family Love Teen Board.

Schlegel is the daughter of Aaron and Nikole Schlegel.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Schlegel is a four-year member of the KHS cheer squad that was named 2021 Class 4A academic state champions and then won the 2023 Class 4A competitive cheer state championship.

She is a member of the KHS yearbook staff and is active in Student Council where she serves as a senior class representative this year.
