KHS announces October Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for October 2024.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Brylea Smith, sophomore Mattie Slezickey, junior Zhoie Tate and senior Hailey Bieren.
Smith is the daughter of Chad and Desiree Smith.
She has been listed on the Principal’s Honor Roll. She is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter where she shows pigs and was on the state qualifying opening and closing ceremonies team.
Smith also competes in horse shows and is a member of the Kingfisher Round-up Club, OKFQHR, OKHSA and AQHA.
Slezickey is the daughter of Dave and Melissa Slezickey.
She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and has been listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
She received the 4.0 Award last year.
Slezickey is a member of the KHS girls’ basketball team and the track team. She is also a member of the KHS cross country team that qualified for state and was recently named academic state champion.
Slezickey is active in Student Council where she currently serves as Homecoming and STING co-chair.
Tate is the daughter of Gus Tate and Traci Reherman.
Tate’s teachers shared that she is respectful and engaged in class and strives to be better than she was the day before.
Bieren is the daughter of Mitchel and Stephanie Bieren.
She has been listed on the Principal’s Honor Roll.
She is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter where she is currently serving as president.
Bieren was part of the national qualifying milk and quality products team where she earned several individual honors.
Bieren also shows pigs and is a member of the vet science and ag communications teams.
She is also active in Student Council, serving as one of the senior class representatives and she is on the KHS yearbook staff.
