KHS commemorates Constitution Day
Kingfisher High School last week commemorated the 235th anniversary of the United States Constitution with a short assembly in the school’s commons. The principal speakers were (middle photo, from left): Nick Tramel, Dustyn McLean, Cord Alig and Andrew Osborn. They chose to begin the program with a tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain.
They talked about the steadfast friend she had been to the United States. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, a short history lesson (top photo) and then a recitation of the Preamble to the United States Constitution. The students also noted this is the 208th anniversary of the writing of the poem that became the lyrics of the National Anthem. The KHS band (bottom photo) played and the students joined in singing The Star Spangled Banner. [Photos by KHS Photography]
