KHS names Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for March 2022.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Keynun Combs, sophomore Hannah Francis, junior Candelaria Gutierrez and senior Brenden Hill.
Combs is the son of Chris and Jamie Combs and Erin and Tom Newell.
He has been listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society.
He is active in the Kingfisher FFA Chapter and is a member of the agronomy and conduct of chapter meetings teams as well as a participant in the FFA creed contests.
Combs is also active in basketball and soccer and is a member of the Crossings Church of Edmond’s youth group.
Francis is the daughter of Austin and Staci Francis.
She is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter.
She was a member of the conduct of chapter meetings team that was named state champion and national qualifier in 2021. She is currently on the milk quality and products team that placed first at the NEO contest.
Hannah is also a member of the Kingfisher 4-H, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Kingfisher First Baptist Church.
Gutierrez is the daughter of Maria Gutierrez.
She is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society. She has received the 4.0 Award and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Gutierrez received the Outstanding English II Award last year. She is a member of the Spanish Club at KHS.
Hill is the son of Cary Hill and Karen Hottel.
He is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Pride of Kingfisher band.
He has received superior ratings in the district ensemble contest the past three years and he received a superior in the state ensemble contest in 2021.
Hill received the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence in 2021. He is also a member of the 13-year club, KHS Drama, academic bowl team and plays soccer for KHS.
