KHS names Students of the Month
Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for February 2023.
Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness, and more.
Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Josh Finley, sophomore Natalie Garrett, junior Kylie Hood and senior Ivy Hartman.
Finley is the son of Kurt and Morgan Finley.
He is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter and the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Garrett is the daughter of Greg and Sara Garrett.
She is a member of the National Honor Society and listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Garrett is active in Student Council where she currently serves as the philanthropy chairman. She is a member of both the KHS girls cross country and track teams.
Hood is the daughter of Shane and Janet Hood.
She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.
Hood is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter where she is currently serving as chapter chaplain.
In 2022, she was a member of the bronze national ag issues forum team and the state winning parliamentary procedure team.
Hood was a member of the national semifinalist conduct of chapter meetings team in 2021.
She recently was named a recipient of a Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship.
Hood was named the Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman earlier this year.
She is a member of the KHS girls golf team and was part of the 2021 Class 4A state runner-up team.
She is also a member of the South Central PGA and is a member of the Kingfisher First Baptist Student Leadership Team.
Hartman is the daughter of Chad and Leah Hartman.
She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society.
Hartman has been named a National Merit Small-Town Rural Scholar and a National Merit Commended Scholar.
She is an active member of the Kingfisher FFA Chapter where she is currently serving as chapter president.
She was a member of the National FFA conduct of chapter meetings third place team and also earned a perfect score on the test.
Hartman was also a member of the National FFA parliamentary procedure semifinalist team and the National FFA qualifying ag issues forum team.
Hartman is a three-time state FFA champion.
She is a three-year member of the KHS cheer team and served as captain this year.
She is also a member of the KHS girls tennis team.
Hartman is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Kingfisher First Baptist Church Elevate Youth Group.
