KHS STUCO delivers collected pop tabs to Ronald McDonald House
Kingfi sher High School Student Council members on May 10 delivered the pop tabs that were collected throughout the school year to the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City. Pictured making the delivery are, from left, Kamryn Purintun, Natalie Garrett, Kadyn Daugherty and Emiley Watkins. Each summer the RMH “sells” all of the donated tabs to help pay for a room for families to stay free of cost. Each year, RMH receives and sells between 3,200 and 3,600 pounds of tabs. It also receives monetary donations to cover the cost of the room, which averages about $3,000-$4,000 per month. As part of the delivery of the pop tabs, the students were also given a tour of the Ronald Mc- Donald House. “The KHS STUCO would like to thank the community for their help in all the donations of pop tabs and ask that everyone start their collections for next year,” said Amy Pearson, a KHS STUCO faculty sponsor along with Stephanie Bieren. “In August we will have drop off locations at each of the schools in our district.” [Photo provided]
