KHS Student Council planning homecoming; parade, coronation and game are next Friday

The Kingfisher High School Student Council has been planning diligently for the 2024 homecoming festivities.

Homecoming this year will be Friday, Oct. 4.

The theme is “Party In The Hive” and will be America-themed.

The homecoming coronation will be held during a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. at the football field.

The homecoming game against Purcell kicks off at 7 p.m.

The football homecoming queen candidates this year are seniors Mia Hartman, Talor Mecklenburg and Kamryn Purintun.

The football captain candidates are senior football players Paytun Burnham, Jose Santoyo and Jairo Velarde.

Junior attendants are Addyson Perkey and Kyze Meyer.

Prior to the coronation and the game, the community is encouraged to attend the homecoming parade at 4 p.m. on Oct. 4.

The parade will begin at Walter Building Center and go south down Main Street to Broadway (State Highway 33).

The parade includes the Yellowjacket football teams, the Pride of Kingfisher marching band, KHS football homecoming court, class floats, clubs and organizations.

Organizations or individuals who wish to participate can contact Amy Pearson at apearson@kingfisher.k12.ok.us by Friday, Sept. 27, to be placed in the parade lineup.

The KHS Student Council took orders for t-shirts as well as sweatshirts and a limited number will be available for sale at the football game.
