Peyton Walker has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 John A. Francis Scholarship.

The $1,000 scholarship is presented annually by the Kingfisher Rotary Club.

The scholarship is open to current college students.

A 2024 Kingfisher High School graduate, Walker is the daughter of Charles and Julie Walker.

She currently attends the University of Central Oklahoma and is a member of the women’s basketball team.

While in high school, she was a standout on the basketball, cross country and soccer teams.

A salutatorian in her class, Walker was a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, was named Student of the Month all four years and was listed on both the superintendent’s and principal’s honor rolls.

Walker is majoring in early childhood education.
