Kingfisher Ag Issues Team Takes Practice Run at Lions
PREPPING FOR NATIONALS – With the national competition looming, the Kingfisher FFA agriculture issues team got in an extra practice session last Thursday. The group performed its “skit” for members of the Kingfi sher Lions Club. The team will compete with others from around the U.S. during the National FFA Convention next month in Indianapolis, Ind. The topic this year is “Legislative Challenges Facing Traditional Agriculture.” Team members spoke for and against more legislation shaping the future of agriculture in a town hall setting and backed up their arguments with varying sets of facts. Ivy Hartman, center, served as the moderator for the forum. Other speakers were, from left, Myka Elliott, Chloe Blair, Leyla Avila, Carter Kitchens, Kylie Hood and Mia Hartman. After the presentation, team members answered a number of questions posed by Lions Club members. The group was accompanied to the meeting by Kingfi sher FFA Adviser Megan Thormodsgard (not pictured).
