The Kingfisher County 4-H Food Showdown and Cloverbud Cupcake Wars were held at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building last mont.

There were 11 Cloverbuds who participated in the Cupcake Wars.

The Cloverbuds decorated cupcakes as farm animals. They were able to name the cupcakes and tell a little story about them.

There were 10 4-H teams who competed in the Kingfisher County Food Showdown.

Oklahoma 4-H Food Showdown is a youth culinary challenge where two- or three-member teams compete to create a dish while demonstrating their knowledge in foods and nutrition, kitchen safety, equipment and creativity in food preparation.

4-H Food Showdown teams created their dish using only a clue, provided secret ingredients and items from the common pantry.

From the secret ingredients, 4-H members identified, prepared and then presented information related to the serving size, nutritional value and cost of the dish.

The first place and second place winners in each age division will compete in the West District 4-H Food Showdown on June 9 in Fairview.
