Kingfisher High School has named its Students of the Month for January 2023.

Students are chosen based on many characteristics including responsibility, leadership, work ethic, reliability, kindness and more.

Selected by the faculty and staff were freshman Jayson Heldermon, sophomore Raegan Snider, junior Peyton Walker and senior Harrison Evans.

Heldermon is the son of Wade Heldermon.

He is active in the Kingfisher FFA Chapter.

Last year he was a member of the forestry, livestock judging and conduct of chapter meetings teams.

He is currently a member of the meats judging team and will present the FFA Creed at speech contests.

Snider is the daughter of Brent and Steph Snider.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Snider plays basketball for KHS and was a part of the 2022 state quarterfinals team.

She also is a member of the KHS girls golf team and was the individual regional champion in 2022.

She is involved in Student Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Walker is the daughter of Charles and Julie Walker.

She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Walker is currently serving as junior class secretary and previously served as freshman class president and sophomore class vice president.

Walker is an avid athlete, as she is a member of the KHS cross country team, girls basketball team, and the girls soccer team.

In basketball, Walker was recently named The Oklahoman’s Athlete of the Week and she was selected as one of Vype magazine’s top-20 point guards in Oklahoma.

Last year she earned second team all-conference honors.

Walker is active in Students Stepping Up, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council where she serves as secretary, and yearbook where she currently serves as co-editor.

Additionally, Walker was the second runner-up in the Kingfisher County Distinguished Young Woman program.

Evans is the son of Austin and Cody Evans.

He is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Oklahoma Honor Society and is listed on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Evans was a vital part of the KHS football team for four years.

This year he was named an Oklahoma Football Coaches Association 3A all-star as well as the District 3A-1 co-defensive MVP.

He also is a member of the KHS track team.
