Kingfisher man dies in Monday accident
An early-morning auto accident Monday has resulted in the death of a Kingfisher man.
Keith Gray, 27, was killed in the accident about two miles south of Kingfisher on U.S. Highway 81, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 4:30 a.m.
The report said Gray was driving a 2011 Kia Soul in the outside southbound lane when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2015 Peterbilt driven by Jorge Martinez, 42 of Enid.
The semi-truck was in the same lane and driving in the same direction, the report read.
After his car made contact with the semi-truck, the car left the roadway to the right. Gray was partially ejected, according to the report.
It also stated he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Gray was transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office from the scene.
Martinez was not injured. The report stated the conditions of both drivers as well as the cause of the collision were still being investigated.
Trooper Lane Gossen of the Kingfisher County Detachment of Troop J was listed as the investigating officer. The Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
