Kingfisher PD Reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
November 16 - Petit larceny.
Officer Aaron Schlegel was dispatched to West Will Rogers Drive and South 13th Street in reference to an attempted bicycle theft in the 800 block of Kens Road.
According to the report, a resident in the Meeker Apartment complex reported that a suspect attempted to steal a bicycle, but “when she banged on the window, the suspect dropped the bicycle and took off walking.”
Schlegel said in his report that he made contact with the 20-year-old male suspect, which matched the description provided by the witness.
According to the report, the suspect indicated that he had walked through the apartment complex parking lot while going to his father’s residence, but not after he left the residence on Aspen Drive.
Schlegel said in his report that he canvassed the area in search of any surveillance footage of the incident.
Lieutenant Dustin Brodrick assisted with the investigation.
November 16 - Expired tag, failure to show insurance, operate vehicle while suspended/denied/ revoked, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of dangerous drugs prohibited-marijuana.
Officer Aaron Schlegel said in his report that he observed a vehicle on U.S. 81 with an expired paper tag and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 56-year-old male suspect was driving with a suspended driver’s license and no proof of insurance in the vehicle.
Schlegel said in his report that he detected the odor of marijuana and the suspect provided the officer with a medical marijuana card, but it was expired.
According to the report, several marijuana and THC vape pens were discovered on the suspect and an inventory of the vehicle produced assorted marijuana and THC dummies, four glass pipes with burnt black and white residue, psychedelic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the vehicle was towed.
Officer Matthew Hollon assisted with the investigation.
November 18 - Malicious injury/destruction of property.
Officer Justin Conner was dispatched to the area of South 11th Street and West Chisholm Drive in reference to an individual who was observed spray painting a utility pole near Gilmour Elementary School.
According to the report, the officer made contact with the 39-year-old female suspect and photographed the damage.
November 19 DUI-driver under 21, no valid driver’s license, reckless driving, endangering others while eluding police offer, transporting open container- liquor, minor in possession of alcoholic beverage and eluding police officer.
According to the report, Officer Jared Tech observed a vehicle make a left turn from West Will Rogers Avenue onto U.S. 81 and “accelerate causing the tires to spin out and the vehicle slide sideways with the front end of the vehicle crossing over into oncoming traffic.”
Tech said in his report he initiated a traffic stop and the 19-year-old driver initially stopped, but then proceeded northbound on U.S. 81, turning onto Chisholm Drive traveling at speeds greater than 70 miles per hour.
Tech and Officer Kyle Svoboda pursued the vehicle traveling at speeds greater than 100 mph, which was swerving on the roadway and failed to stop at multiple stop signs, the report said.
According to the report, the pursuit continued through Loyal with the vehicle coming to a stop on NS2740 Road, south of EW720 Road.
Officers performed an inventory of the vehicle which yielded an empty beer can and a half-empty liter of tequila, according to the report.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center, where field sobriety tests were performed.
The suspect was also charged with driving under the influence, the report said.
November 22 - Public intoxication, petit larceny- state and unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substance.
Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of shoplifting at Ace Hardware, 123 E. Miles Ave.
According to the report, Trout confronted the 31-year-old male suspect regarding the alleged shoplifting incident and the suspect then removed several items from his pockets and turned them over to Sergeant Justin Trumbley.
Trout said in his report that the suspect exhibited signs of intoxication and the suspect admitted to using drugs that day.
According to the report, Trout searched the suspect and located foil “with a blue-looking substance that appeared to have been burnt,” which later field tested positive for cocaine.
The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication, shoplifting and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The reported value of the stolen items was $22.17.
